Pleasure & Treasure: there are many differing viewpoints when it comes to the subject of design – perhaps even as many as there will be new exhibitions during the Milan Design Week. There are, however, two perspectives on which most will agree:

Firstly, design objects have a pathos akin to that of objects of value not just because of their price, but also because of the reverence shown to them. In particular, the objects which are carefully crafted from precious materials are like little treasures to be enjoyed each day, or perhaps only on special occasions. The joy evoked by such objects is the second aspect inherent in many good design objects and stands apart from their material value.

The idea behind this exhibition is as simple as the name itself – two different spaces, two different themes.

The first houses a treasure trove of design objects majestically enthroned above a pool filled with gold chocolate coins and surrounded by imposing walls like those of a treasure chamber.

The other, flooded with natural light and filled with resplendent furnishings, is transformed into a pool of design objects and invites the visitor to become a child again by focusing on the joy evoked by the objects and being present in the moment.
